Buttons stay active until you open a different file. A stray tap can still trigger a button on other screens — the file browser or page overview — until you open a different notebook. There's no signal from the system telling a plugin it's left the note screen.

Switching templates needs a panel reopen. If you change the template a page uses, close the Modulanner panel and reopen it before setting buttons up, or it may still show the previous template's name.

Erase tap mark is experimental. See page 4.4.
