Hitbox zones stay active until you open a different file. A stray tap can still trigger a zone on other screens — the file browser or page overview — until you open a different notebook. There's no signal from the system telling a plugin it's left the note screen.

Switching templates needs a panel reopen. If you change the template a page uses, close the Modulanner panel and reopen it before setting zones up, or it may still show the previous template's name.
